Susan Halligan is a Social Media Consultant based in New York working with cultural organizations, non-profits, technology start-ups and authors on social media strategies spanning channel selection, content marketing, employee activation, stream management, listening and measurement. Her specialty is integrating social media into traditional marketing and communications channels.
As the former Marketing Director of The New York Public Library, Susan built the library’s social media footprint from scratch to make @nypl the #1 public library in the world on Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare.
She has a deep background in sponsorship, having worked for IMG for seven years on programs for the Smithsonian Institution, the United States Olympic Committee and the Nobel Institute, At NYPL, she created sponsorships with the Wall Street Journal, Major League Baseball, Fresh Direct, Social Media Week, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Starbucks.
Susan began her career in book publishing, including Princeton University Press, William Morrow and Simon & Schuster.
